You can make a hammock swing chair both indoors and outside. It is easier to make one of these chairs inside, because your ceiling allows you to place the chair almost anywhere. However, you can still make the chair outside as well. Just keep in mind that you must hang the chair from a tree that is tall enough to give the chair room to swing, and strong enough to support the weight of an average person.
Your dowel plays an important role in suspending the hammock swing chair from the ceiling, so make sure you use caution while preparing it. First, drill two holes through the dowel. Drill your first hole two inches in and your second hole four inches in.
Everything is ready to come together now. Attach a to your ceiling or a stable tree branch outside and then hook some spring links up to that and attach it to your rope. Run the rope through the inch-long pocket openings on either side of your canvas and attack them to the bottom area of the dowel. This should result in a comfortable, functional hammock swing chair.
