Customers frequently inquire as to whether we carry our popular Mayan Short Hammocks in the superior cording and weave of the Tommy Hamaca line of Mercerized cotton hammocks. The answer, now, is yes! The Tommy Short Queen is 3 meters (10 feet) in total length, and can be hung in an 8 1/2 feet foot space. So now you can bring that smooth luxurious weave into a small patio or lanai, ot even into a college dorm.
A luxury hammock for small spaces. A heavy cord 100% cotton hammock sized at 9.5 to 10 feet, to fit in as little as 8 feet hanging distance. This beautiful hammock brings a luxurious touch to our line of shorter hammocks. Originally created for a resort in Saint Lucia, it can bring a touch of paradise to your lanai or deck. It is hand woven from #24 thick cotton cording.
Though our polyester-rope and DuraCord® rope and fabric hammocks handle prolonged and intense weather exposure remarkably well, we still don't recommend leaving a hammock outside continuously exposed to the elements or to harsh winter conditions, since prolonged exposure to nasty weather will ultimately shorten hammock life. This is particularly true where cotton rope is concerned.
To hang as you describe, start with a shortish hammock. A Speer works for me. Forget adjustable suspensions...they take up room you don't have. Larkshead a continuous loop of Amsteel on to each end of the hammock, screw big honkin' hooks into something solid, hang, and enjoy.
