Do you know other ways to tie a hammock? Let us know!

The hammock is arguably one of the most comfortable beds you can lie on. They’re perfect for relaxing by the beach; on your terrace; as an alternative to a tent and sleeping bag during hikes; or even as a fully functional bed at home! That is if you tie and hang it correctly. It may take some practice and some getting used to, but once you master how to tie a hammock, you’ll be off to dreamland very soon.

I let you in on the news that I’m working with over the next couple weeks to help you bring some color to your home this summer using a few of my favorite True Value finds! And, we figured we’d kick things off with a BANG! A rainbow tie dye hammock kinda BANG! Yes, this hammock started off as a plain ol’ white one before we made it over, so if you’ve been thinking about investing in one for your backyard… allow us to help you add a little color!

You are now ready to thread all the bits together with the ski rope. Cut as many long lengths of rope as you have rows of drilled holes. The ski rope lengths should be long enough that they can run the length of the body of the hammock, and have enough extra on each end to be knotted together and tie the hammock up. Thread the rope through each pole along the length of the hammock to connect them together. We threaded the small sections of plastic pipe (about 4cm depending on the thickness of your poles) between the spaces of the outer rows of poles to prevent friction on the rope. Large beads or fish tank piping would work equally as well.
